Description

James Milne was an Edinburgh-born civil servant whose work took him across Scotland and also to Ceylon. His final career years were spent in London but he returned to Scotland on his retirement and settled in the scenic East Neuk village of Crail. Milne travelled widely in his retirement, holidaying with his camera in many countries throughout the world. His collection consists of some 6000 colour slides providing a fascinating view of international tourist sites in the 1970s and 1980s, and reflect in particular his personal interest in temples, frescoes and statues.
