Description

Manuscript collection of John Read. The collection includes: 21 negatives; one loose print; two loose prints, gelatin silver. Information on the manuscript material (ms38835) relating to this collection can be found in the University's Archive (see Supplementary resources).
In addition to the photographs held alongside the manuscript collection, the University also holds John Read’s photographic collection of alchemical prints, magic lantern slides and glass plate negatives. The lantern slides and the negatives pertain mostly to John Read’s subjects of interest, including chemistry and its history, but they also include some personal photographs.
