Simple headstone leaning against iron rails. The inscription reads: "M S R
Here lyes the Reverend Mr Samuel Rutherfoord Professor of Divinty of St Andrews who died March the 20 1661.
what tongu [sic] what pen or skill of men
Canfamous Riutherfoord Commend
His learning justly rasid [sic] his fame
His true Godliness Adornd [sic] his name
He did converse with things above
Acquainted with Emmanuel's Love
Most orthodox [sic] he was and sound
And many errors did confound
For Zion's King and Zion's cause
And Scoland's covennted Laws
Most constantly he did comend [sic]
Until his time was at an end
Than [sic] he won to the full fruition
Of that which he had seen in vision.
Here lyes the Reverend John Anderson who was Minr of the Gospel of St Andrews who died the 1712 in the 58 year of his age.
