‘Turquie’: Turkish beetle
Description
The postcard features a political cartoon depicting a figure of an anthropomorphic beetle man with a sword stabbed through his back and wearing a fez or tarboosh (hat). The body of the man is brown with the two rear wings of the man decorated with the Turkish flag. Underneath the man, written in cursive handwriting, is the word ‘Turquie’ and to the left of the word is a faded blue flower.
