Description

Brown leather album with gold leaf rose decoration on cover. Album contains albumen prints of landscapes, portraits,architectural photographs and reproductions of artworks. Portraits include "Mignon", Mrs Zeigler, Dr John Balfour, Willie (Wilhelmina) Carstairs of Cupar (by Dr John Adamson), Dr George Moir, Dr Sharpey, David Octavius Hill, Professor William Macdonald (by Dr John Adamson), Hugh Alexander (a Forfarshire Farmer), David Moir, Dr John Adamson. Some photographs captioned in pen, probably contemporary with album. Many portraits identified and annotated in pencil, probably modern.
