Thomas H Miller Scenic Photographic Collection.Record level Collection
This collection of photographs consists of original glass plate negatives and an equal number of corresponding vintage prints presented in albums created by Thomas Hugh Miller from 1890 - ca.1920. These photographs document the family holidays taken by the Millers, frequently on or near the west coast of Scotland. Views of Arran, Appin, Mull, Loch Sween, Millport and Findhorn with occasional views of the Highlands and England. As vernacular family photographs, these images represent primarily rural coastal and mountain landscapes with people at leisure and views that depicit farming in the west coast of Scotland. A number of views also show the younger members of the family as they grow up.
It is thought that all negatives and prints were created, developed, and printed by Thomas Hugh Miller.
