Painting of a Biblical scene - the Finding of Moses in the Bulrushes.


A group of women at the water's edge beside a woven basket; one woman holds a baby and a girl points to a woman by the trees. The women have Pharaonic (Egyptian) headdresses and long simple dresses. A parasol is being held over the head of the woman with the baby. A woman in a dark dress with a light shawl also points to the woman behind the tree, who wears a turban. There is a sphinx on a high pedestal in the background.
