Family group: man in suit; woman, in flounced dress; girls in matching dresses; two boys, one in suit and one unbreeched. Studio portrait. The woman's hair is in a chignon with centre parting; the girl's hair is in ringlets with centre partings; their dresses have lace and ribbon trimmings. The girls and younger boy are wearing lace pantalets. The older boy has a wide lace collar; he is seated on a padded leather chair or chaise longue. The youngest child is wearing a check dress with trimmings. The father has a wing collar and cravat.
