Description

View along a narrow cobbled street lined with tall shop and tenement buildings, towards tenements on stepped terrace. Signs on building in left foreground include - 'Sewing Machine Maker [...ES] RENNIE', upper storey gable; Butchers (?) and a fancy goods shops at ground level: to the right - a Retail Drapery Warehouse, with sale notices in first floor windows; smaller shops at ground level, with Petrie's shop on corner below steps : '... Webster ...Wine ...' shop on corner of stepped terrace. Gas mantle street lamps.
