Description

A perhaps surprisingly entertaining subject, due to Hamish's knowledge, enthusiasm and unique photography - you'll never look at a kirkyard again without curiosity. There are numerous elements from the serious, like the 18th century folk art, the symbolism on the stones, the vast array of trade symbols, and the portail of Adam and Eve (and other biblical stories); the historical topics, like the measures against Body-snatchers, lettering, and ageing; to the unintentionally funny, like accidents, wordings, misprints and howlers.
