The Valentine and Sons Photographic Albums contain photographs printed, bound and sold in album format by James Valentine and Sons of Dundee. The commercially produced albums were sold to clients of the company providing products catering to interests of tourism and keepsakes of travels in Scotland and the United Kingdom. The mostly topographic documentary photographs contained within these albums date from the 1860s to the 1960s and represent a cross section of the company's photographic production prior to the postcard era and later. Of particular note are albums featuring Scottish themes and places.
The albums are numbered using a sequential number which indicates the order in which they were acquired by the library and into Special Collections.
